Overall Conference Purpose and Goals 
 

Health care professionals from a variety of disciplines will be able to apply at least one new patient safety tool in their practice setting.  


Objectives
 
 

    •  Adopt internationally relevant patient focused strategies and activities to improve patient safety and reduce adverse events;

    •  Evaluate current methods to deal with post adverse event patient and provider perspectives, and their relevance to improving patient safety;

    •  Incorporate Colorado-specific patient safety activities into their own patient safety activities;

    •  Provide structured input into the efforts of the Colorado Patient Safety Coalition to develop a statewide agenda for patient safety that can be recognized and adopted by stakeholders.

CFMC is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.  

Colorado Foundation for Medical Care designates this educational activity for a maximum of 7.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

CFMC has no financial responsibility for this activity.

Nursing Credit: The Colorado Foundation for Medical Care (CFMC) is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Colorado Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This activity provides 7.25 contact hours to be awarded.  

COPIC: This program meets the criteria necessary to qualify as an approved activity under the Experience Rating System (ERS) of COPIC Insurance Company’s Participatory Risk Management Program. This program is approved for 2 ERS points.

AAFP: This activity has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 6.25 Elective credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians.  

CPHQ: This program qualifies for 7.25 hours of continuing education credit toward fulfillment of the requirements of CPHQ upon certification by the NAHQ.  

CFMC has determined that the maximum number of contact hours available for the CFMC co-sponsored sessions at this annual meeting is 6 hours. Credits issued for this program will be based on attendance records and a signed registration form to be submitted at the conclusion of the meeting by each participant requesting CE credit. ACPE Universal Program number is 406-999-08-037-LO5-P. Statements of contact hours will be mailed within 60 days following the meeting. E.L.F.
